16 W 16th Chelsea Coop Full Gut Remodel

Open Kitchen Laywout, New Bathroom and Walk-In Closet Expansion

This full gut remodel of a Chelsea coop apartment transformed the space into a sophisticated blend of functionality and Parisian-inspired elegance.

Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen now features a new open layout that seamlessly flows into the living area, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. We installed custom kitchen cabinets in a slim shaker style, complemented by a luxurious marble countertop. To accommodate the open floor plan, a designated office area was incorporated next to the kitchen.

Due to NYC’s building constraints that prevent moving ceiling electrical boxes, we implemented a custom L-shaped ceiling lighting solution, utilizing the existing junction box to achieve optimal illumination.

Throughout the apartment, we installed engineered hardwood flooring from PurezaWood, adding warmth and durability. Elegant details such as picture molding, crown molding, and baseboards further enhance the high-end design while ensuring practical upgrades for everyday living.

Custom Cabinetry/Office

The office corner build-out is a seamless blend of functionality and elegance, crafted from premium white oak. The design features dovetail under-mount drawers, offering both durability and refined craftsmanship. Recessed lighting is integrated within the cabinetry to provide optimal illumination, ensuring a well-lit workspace. Additionally, all cables and outlets are neatly concealed behind the panel, maintaining a clean and clutter-free aesthetic.

Walk-In Closet Expansion

To enhance storage space, the walk-in closet was expanded, and a dedicated area for purses and accessories was added. The new layout offers improved organization while maintaining the overall aesthetic of the apartment.

This renovation beautifully combines high-end design elements with practical, everyday solutions, resulting in a truly stunning transformation.

Bathroom Remodel

The bathroom renovation includes stunning marble wall tiles from TileBar and ceramic floor tiles from Mercury Mosaic. A unique design feature is the slim Schluter trim with tiles cut at a 45-degree angle around the shower step, showcasing expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. The vanity, sourced from Pottery Barn, adds a touch of classic elegance, while plumbing fixtures from Signature Hardware provide modern functionality.
